This and the next are in the incantation series:

1. (I am completely) (stopping)
2. (I expect) (nothing)
3. (I am) (doing my work)
4. (I trust) (my resources)
5. (I feel) (supported)
6. (I embrace) (this moment)
7. (I am free) (of the past)
8. (I make) (my meaning)
9. (I am open) (to joy)
10. (I am equal) (to this challenge)
11. (I am) (taking action)
12. (I return) (with strength)

From Eric Maisel’s book Ten Zen Seconds.

I use these! It works for me. Right now # 3 is (I am) (posting in my blog), and I want to get all the completed sketches up, and even more, today’s insights which are buzzing & will go with the next ten or so images!

The next image is part of the duo.

  1. Thanks Walter, I’ve had a look through all the incantation images now and really enjoyed them. You make it look so easy. It was easy in the start to have the idea of doing an image for each incantation, but the action that must follow the idea is where I have had trouble. Looking at yours I wish (almost) that I could do them digitally. Being able to flip them into negative, tweak their saturation etc would (I believe at this point in my non-action) be a real benefit in getting the image to display its meaning. I might do both actually. What a good idea!

  2. Jan, yes, do both. That reminds me of a useful idea from Eric Maisel re “dual thinking” it is not one thing or another. It is useful to escape the restraints of mind traps. I met with him in San Francisco recently and one question he had was did I really need to just do digital? Good question. And had a toenail into working on paper. I have not done art since I was a child but have doodled in my diaries and have continued that more vigorously while doing sketches online. I have stuck to my focus though, the blog-work is all digital.

I am so busy with the physical making of the objects from the prints that it is enough.

I think the next one on the list for me is Joy. Hmmm, I experience good feelings, love, if that is a feeling, delight, enthusiasm, pleasure, happiness even, but joy? There are moments I can recall. Maybe I have it in the sum of those parts, I will give it a go. I am afraid they would look corny (just noticed the excuse unconscious excuse.)

In fact I had joy on my mind while doing an image I did, I” call it Approaching Joy and post is ASAP.
