I suppose this is not unlike the earlier one based on flying along the Alps the other day. Perhaps no worse for my not having a screen to put the pen onto. But I am still returning the pad to Dick Smith, it is not suitable for my task.
I have spent the day on building up this old Dell laptop, it does have a great screen! 15″ 1600 x 1200. I guess that is what has me looking at the Cintiq.

I can think “arm move” and it does. There are people who have lost or never had that ability. I have lost the ability to sketch on my screen like I used to. Temporarily, frustrating rather than a tragedy. I have also possibly lost the last few sketches – and the originals of a few more, I’ll hear tomorrow.
Firstly more about this sketch which was done with a pen on a digital pad, and then some reflections on evolution.
Some of my prints will be on sale in Miami! Might be a good time for a trip.

This was a hasty retreat from the last one into something more natural, earthy.

In these abstracts I go into a meditation. This one I had to exit in a hurry. Why came up in later reflection and it is war. It is painful to look at this image. I moved onto the next, quickly.

Everyday objects are on my mind, and I did this wok recently. I’m in the mood for doing more everyday sketches, however my hard disk crashed and the computer is in for repair. I tried a small pad plugged into my old Dell, but I can’t do this on one of those pads. It worked fine, and even the cheap generic pad was pressure sensitive, but it just did not feel right. What I would like is one of these!
The first of these woks looked like it had a lid, I wanted to find a way of showing its hollowness. I think it happens more as I persevere, and it is through looking!

Eight selected abstracts from the “Thousand Sketches” are currently for sale on Art Bash, a New Zealand online Gallery and art site.
The selection is not so much a representation as a group that highlights my abstract explorations. It is good for me to see this small pool highlighted in this way. The editions of 25 are all in pigment ink on heavy Hahnemuhle Paper, 13 x 19 inches. They are currently available only through Art Bash (they will be briefly available at the exhibition that is coming up as well).
