This is from a painting of him as a young man, which was then shown in a movie, made into a video, snapped off my TV with a camera and then sketched by me.

Great video, great painter.

Wikipedia on Whistler with plenty of images, including the one this sketch is from! I just noticed. But I used a photo I took!

Ink & Fill

I have used mostly ArtRage 2 for my sketching. It has a great interface and does pastels and pencils well. I have now branched into Painter X, which is much more configurable. Has a poor interface but opens up great possibilities. The colour washes in the horse pictures are new, and “fill” is not available in Painter, so I have been playing with pen & fill. MInd you, basic MS Paint does ok with fill.
